I always had a fascination with odd vehicles. In the late 90's I dragged home a dilapidated Cadillac Ambulance/ Hearse combination from a junkyard. The ambulance appealed to me due to my involvement with LifeCare in Lorain County in North Central Ohio, a service that provides primary 911 service to more than half of the people who live there as well as provide transport and Paratransit services for the entire County.
Bringing the Cadi back from the dead was so much fun it turned into the catalyst to bring home an increasingly odd assortment of  vehicles, most broken or in a series of boxes. They are put together again and stay in the collection as long as they're played with
